It’s pronounced Ten-ee. Teniola Apata, better known, by Teni is a young singer hailing from Nigeria. OkayAfrica has ranked her as one of Africa’s top 100 women, which is a very well deserved honor! She stands about 5”1, very petite, although her presence was huge. This very energetic, charismatic, young woman had blessed the globe with hits such as “Uyo Meyo,” “Case,” and “Askamaya.” What was apparent is that no matter if they were from Nigeria, Ethiopia, or America, the fans loved Teni. One fan even said that she wasn’t sure what the lyrics of the song “Uyo Meyo,” meant, but she knew that the song was beautifully sang, and most would attest to this, as Teni’s voice has a unique-sultriness.
A simple, “ARE YOU READDDYYY?,” from the mc, brought fans to their feet as Teni prepared to take over the stage. ATEAM brought out a full house to H20 Lounge in Dallas, TX, to showcase Teni this past Friday March 15, 2019. Fans shouted, accompanied by applause, and bright lights beaming from phone cameras. People were in for a show that evening, because Teni didn’t miss a beat while she engaged the crowd with all their favorite songs. Special performances were also done by Zaena and Jlomah.
